Me in Kindergarten.
I loved my smiley face dress.

Me with Bird, a robin I raised when it fell from a nest. I taught him how to dig for worms and when you put your hand in the air, he would fly to you. It migrated about a month after this photo was taken.

About Me:

You say my name with a long e,
even though it is spelled
M-E-G-A-N.
Ironic that I'm a reading teacher and need to explain that to the kids. Fortunately at work, they know me as Mrs. Whitaker.

I received my B.A. in Communications from Lewis & Clark College in Portland, Oregon.
I interned at J. Walter Thompson in NYC and although my time in the Big Apple was fantastic(!), I soon realized the advertising business was not for me.

I returned to art school and received an Associates degree in Industrial Design and worked in the design industry for seven years.
I worked on interpretive signage projects all over the United States.

Sandwiched in the middle of these stints in education was time spent at the Oregon Institute of Marine Biology studying invertebrate zoology and marine ecology.
